The Fresno State Creative Writing Alumni Chapter presented Fresno Writers Live, a virtual reading to celebrate the new story collection “Kafka in a Skirt: Stories from the Wall,” the sixth book from Fresno writer Daniel Chacón.

Admission was $5, and advance registration was required. All proceeds were split 50/50 between the chapter and the author.

Daniel Chacón serves as Chair of the Bilingual Creative Writing Department at the University of Texas, El Paso. He is author of six books of fiction, including “Hotel Juárez, Stories, Rooms and Loops” and the novel “and the shadows took him.” His newest collection is called “Kafka in a Skirt: Stories from the Wall.” He has won the Southwest Book Award, the American Book Award, the PEN-Oakland Prize for Fiction, and the Hudson Prize. He is co-host of Words on a Wire, a radio show about books and ideas. A Fresno State alumnus, he co-founded the Chicanx Writers and Artists Association in 1990 with Andrés Montoya.
